We had an amazing time with Carlos as our tour guide. He is extremely knowledgable, very kind and flexible. The tour ran long because we asked a lot of questions, for which he always had good answers, no matter if the questions were about history, culture or politics. We highly recommend booking the tour with Carlos, he is an incredible guide!
We’ve participated in several walking tours in big cities, but unfortunately, the walking tour of Washington DC left us quite disappointed. Our guide provided generic information about the monuments and historic buildings, occasionally even reading directly from plaques. Despite claiming to offer insider insights as a lifelong Washington resident, she failed to share any anecdotes or specific details (such as restaurant recommendations, as “American food is too unhealthy and not real food”). The tour lasted well over 2 hours, yet much of that time was spent walking without receiving substantial information. While we don’t expect tour guides to be historians, statements like “Martin Luther King was assassinated, but I’m not quite sure why” or “The Korean War started because of communism” felt inadequate and overly simplified. We cannot recommend this tour. However, we do appreciate the effort put into organizing this tour and recognize that it is still in its early stages. With some improvements and more engaging content, we believe this free walking tour has the potential to become a great experience for visitors. We hope our feedback helps in making those adjustments and wish the team the best of luck in their future endeavors.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour! Tom is knowledgeable (he is a history teacher), friendly, attentive and caters to the people's needs during the tour. Highly recommend!
