Our experience exploring Beijing was absolutely unforgettable, and that was entirely thanks to our incredible guide Roy Li. From the moment we met, it felt less like a tour and more like being shown around by a knowledgeable friend who truly loves their city. What stood out most was the depth of insight Roy shared, not just historical facts, but the stories, traditions, and everyday life that make the hutongs so special. They brought the narrow alleys and courtyard homes to life in a way we never could have experienced on our own. We learned about local customs, family life, and how the area has evolved over time, all while feeling completely engaged. Roy pointed out hidden gems we would have easily missed and gave us great recommendations for food and places to explore afterward. If you’re visiting Beijing, this is an absolute must-do.
