I did 3 tours with Meet Bosnia. First the walking tour, with Anna, who was really knowledgeable and also gave some great tips on the best places to try the local specialities. She clearly knew all the local people and took us to sample some great sweets, pies and bread. The walk lasted about 4 hours but the time flew by. On day 2, I did the Fall of Yugoslavia tour. I was picked up on time from my hotel by Arno. We did the tour in a car as there were only 2 of us, plus a trainee guide. Again, this was really interesting and Arno also told us of his memories as a young boy during the siege. We finished by walking up the abandoned bobsleigh track from the 1984 Winter Olympics, then catching the cable car down the mountain (which stops very close to the Sarajevo brewery & pub - also well worth a visit). Day 3 was spent doing the drive to Mostar. I was picked up in a minivan by Kristijan and just one young Turkish lady (Meliss). Four customers had cancelled at the last minute, so it was just us three. With hours of driving ahead it had the potential to be a bit awkward, particularly as Meliss didn't speak English, but Kristijan made us both feel really at ease. He said he tried to make his guests feel like his friends, rather than customers, and that was definitely the case. As well as some beautiful scenery, inside local knowledge, and a great lamb sandwich, we had a really good laugh together all day (with a little help from Google translate). We took loads of great pictures - particularly of 'supermodel' Meliss - and exchanged numbers for future contact. After being dropped off by Kristijan that night, I realised that I'd left my phone charging in the van. As I was flying out very early the next morning this was a real problem - no boarding pass, bank cards, phone numbers!! I was still trying to figure out what to do when, like an angel of mercy, Kristijan arrived at my hotel reception carrying my phone and charger. What a lifesaver!! Needless to say, I highly recommend Meet Bosnia as a quality tour company. All three guides spoke excellent English and I felt I got good value for money on the 2 paid tours. Well Done & Thank You to all at Meet Bosnia for making my short stay in Bosnia & Herzegovina a real pleasure. Simon. X
My group had a great tour with Ahmed. We found the tour informative, relaxed and professional. Ahmed was great and was full of information and more than happy to answer any questions we had. I highly recommend the tour as we saw things that we wouldn't have seen without it such as going into the mosque grounds. It was great, thank you
100% recommend. Ago was really friendly and had amazing knowledge of all the history.
Nice tour and friendly guide. The beginning of the tour contained a lot of information though, and I think you have an advantage if you already have basic knowledge of local history, because it could feel a bit overwhelming/confusing.
Our guide (we think it was Arla ) in the 3 pm 28/2 was excellent. So informative, open and willing to share her own experiences.
