Adel Aziz Michel - Guía turístico en Alejandría

This was an absolutely outstanding tour. O-u-t-s-t-a-n-d-i-n-g. If you're going to Alexandria, don't bother looking at any other tours. I booked this the night before the tour date, late in the evening. Adel was immediately responsive and reached out. I had actually booked a different tour (a Roman historical walking tour) on another site, but that operator cancelled at the last minute. I was devasted because we specifically came to Alexandria to take a historical tour and see the city, and only had 1 day to do it. In the end, I am so glad they cancelled, otherwise I might never have met Adel. Within minutes my tour was confirmed. Communication was easy and clear. I explained about the other tour being cancelled and Adel immediately offered to cover the sites on that tour, as well as do his own tour, which explores the daily life of Alexandrians and history of the city. What an amazing experience. We started at 10:40am and finished at 7:10pm. We covered ALL of Alexandria. We walked, we took an Uber, we took a local mini bus. And we walked and walked. According to my step counter, we blew past our previous record part way through our day, and we've been on a lot of tours around the world. Adel is engaging, fun, has limitless energy, and an encyclopedic knowledge of everything Alexandria, Greco-Roman history, and Egyptian political history. It was really amazing to witness the display of his knowledge. This is not a regular tour guide, believe me. He's educated at a Professor level, and he's clearly passiontate about the subject matter, and it's infectious. His passion fuelled us through the walk, which covered every corner I could think of, and a bunch I never would have found. He is passionate about Alexandria and Egypt, and it shines through. We went to the main tourist sites, we went through the back streets where only locals can go, we saw important historical sites that a tourist would NEVER find on their own. We were always 100% safe, and never felt uncomfortable in any way, regardless of the area. The sheer volume of things we saw and learned was incredible. One thing my wife and I REALLY appreciated was that Adel engaged both me and my wife equally. We've been on plenty of tours where the guide either focuses on me or my wife, but not both. Adel was engaged with both equally. This shows the highest level of respect. Adel even bought us a Koshhary meal in one of his favorite local eateries, and a delicious local juice afterwards. And when I thought the tour was over at 5pm? No way, we still had another 2hrs of things to cover! Wow. We learned so much through the entire day, it was amazing. Not only did we see what we wanted to, but it was so much more. I honestly think it was one of the, if not THE, best walking tours I've ever been on, and I've been on a lot in over 60 countries. 5 stars is not enough. If you're going to Alexandria, book Adel. Period, end of story. You won't be disappointed. I guarantee it.

Adel Aziz es un guía culto y amable que ama su ciudad y te lo transmite en el tour. Es generoso, y no le importó hacer 5 horas de tour para que la visita fuera completa. Gracias a él, pude tener una visión rica de la ciudad en múltiples aspectos (arqueológica, histórica y humana) de su pasado, pero también de su presente. Pude visitar lugares que no están en los reorridos turísticos habituales. Le estoy muy agradecida.

Adel is a great guide! His style is to spend the day with you 'as a local', taking you to places that are off the beaten track. We took the tram and the minibus, had food and drinks at the local market and saw neighbourhoods and places we wouldn't have seen without him. He is passionate and knowledgeable about Egypt's history and especially Alexandria. The amount of information that he provides is impressive. He also gave us lots of information to help understand the modern culture, as well as historical information, all the way back to ancient Egypt. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour, especially the alternative angle that Adel takes from other similar tours. Thank you!

It was our best and most informative free walking tour we ever had. Adel is a great tourgide with knowledge like a Lexikon. He also organised typical local food and drinks for us when we asked him just for a recomendation. :)
