Excellent tour, as expected, since I had already done his other tour and loved it. Two perhaps unusual things to mention: 1) Haktan managed a fairly big crowd very well. It's hard to move something like 30 people (including, in this case, on a ferry ride) and keep them together and entertained. Haktan did it. 2) Haktan mentions in his presentation of himself that his presentation is humorous or funny or something like that. It truly is. Sometimes I am worried if a guide claims to be funny, as it might be corny humor or not funny at all. Haktan is quick and clever and has makes lots of quite hilarious comments. He really is funny. Don't miss it.
This is an excellent tour. Haktan is a very good speaker and presenter of fascinating information about what you visit on the tour-- in other words, not a lot of fluff unrelated to what you are seeing. He also answers questions thoughtfully and with a good amount of context. I also appreciated the pace of the tour. No sitting around for too long anywhere-- something that often characterizes Guruwalk tours. Haktan keeps you moving. I am in Istanbul for a few months and will recommend this tour to everyone who visits me while I am here.
Belaynah is a very nice guy. He showed me around the main sites of downtown and, as others have mentioned, showed us three separate means of public transportation-- minibus, bus, and light rail. He did not have a very specific itinerary in mind, so I would recommend that any others who want to take the walk should do a bit of research in advance to think of things that they would like to see.
