This is the best walking tour I've ever done. Mary pours her heart and soul into it, and clearly considers the message she's spreading to be a mission, a priority. It is very, very worth your time. Highly recommended.
Highly recommend if you're wanting more than just a history tour and wish to be challenge. Mary's description of the tour is summed up perfectly. She manages to intertwine historical events with the news of today and offers you the chance to think about the sociopolitical climate of today from a different stance, sprinkling the more emotionally difficult parts of the tour with her own personal family history.
This was an excellent tour for anyone who is interested in learning more about Berlin’s rich history. There was plenty of time to walk through various landmarks, but the biggest draw of this tour was hearing Mary’s thoughtful explanations about the historical contexts behind them. She was incredibly knowledgeable and definitely one of the best walking tour guides I’ve encountered. 4.5 hours went by very quickly. Highly recommend!!
Mary was super knowledgeable and interesting. She takes time to give a complete narrative of and a holistic overview of modern Berlin history, tying several complex eras together. Even better, she ties it to current events and how it impacts today.
