I think this would be a tough tour to lead! I learnt a lot during the tour, but it probably wasn’t what I wanted. That’s likely because I didn’t truly know what to expect, as with any other tour. Sometimes there wasn’t a clear connection between some stories and where we were, although Jacqueline was a great guide,
A great tour lead by a great storyteller! Marta took us through some key places in Madrid, explaining their significance and ensuring that people were involved in their tour - there was even a little quiz at the end - not worry, no one fails!! The tour begins at Sol and ends at the Cathedral. A little bit of everything in between. A great explanation of the kings and the piñata statue in plaza mayor. Definitely recommended, hopefully you get Marta!
A lot of wow moments on this tour. Our host had a wealth of knowledge given her background in art history. She’s been running the tour for 7 years, and loves her content. The tour starts with some great ‘layer cake’ explanation of Toledo and then leads into key sites that support that. Definitely recommended to add to your stay!
Wow what an introduction to Toledo! I was lucky enough to be the only one on the tour. So once again got some pretty personalised service! Despite the heat, we roam the streets and I listened intently as my guide spoke about the history of the various contributing backgrounds of different buildings and sections of the city. It was a perfect introduction and great lead-in to further exploration tomorrow (that I have time for). If you’re pressed for time, the arvo tour is great way to cap off your day to give context to what you’ve seen.
