I took Mike’s Brooklyn Bridge/DUMBO tour on a previous trip and enjoyed it so much that when I returned to NYC, I reached out to see if he was running any other tours. I ended up joining his new Wall Street/Financial District tour, and it did not disappoint! What sets City Shuffles apart is the storytelling. Mike explains the stories behind the places you are seeing and really helps to paint the picture of why they matter. The result is that you actually remember what you learned long after the tour ends! The tour was packed with fascinating details about the development of New York City, Wall Street, the Financial District, and the events of 9/11, but everything was presented in a way that felt engaging and relevant rather than like a history lecture. I left with a much deeper understanding of the city and several stories that I am still able to share with others later on! If you enjoy architecture, urban history, engineering, city development, or simply learning how New York became what it is today, I highly recommend this tour. This is exactly the kind of tour that makes a city feel more connected and more meaningful. (Even in a city that you may have visited already many times!)

Mike was incredible as a tour guide. He shared his vast knowledge about the Colonial history and the financial district. My favorite moments of the tour was definitely the small unknown anecdotes he would share - like the one about “Wrong Way Douglas”! In addition he really took his time to answer questions from the group and gave time for pictures! Totally worth it!
