The best free walking tour I’ve ever done, hands down. Michael was the perfect tour guide for this tour. He shared his lived experience. He provided historical context and related it well to the stops on the tour. But the personal connection to what he was sharing is what made this tour so special and impactful. Go into the tour with an open mind and be prepared to see South Africa with a new perspective. It’s a tour which really makes you think. We did it at the beginning of our holiday and we are glad we did. It emphasized for us the complexity of this country. Thank you, Michael!

We have done several ‘free’ walking tours around the world and this was 100% the best one so far. Michael’s true lived-in experience of the recent and ongoing struggles of apartheid made for a very engaging tour and gave a real-life perspective of life in cape town today that would be difficult to find elsewhere. This tour was exceptional. Michael has a personal viewpoint as he has family, as well as he, himself, who was very involved in the struggle for equality. He presented the history of the Cape from the first inhabitants to the people living in Cape Town today, and all that came in between. We love history and this tour was the best historical tour of many that we took during our 3 week stay in South Africa.
