Great tour for a first time visitor to Budapest!

A great introduction to Budapest and its history with Lila. She’s a passionate Hungarian who knows so much about her country and its history. She was friendly and easy to listen to. She was mindful of how cold it was so that we didn’t stand in one place too long. This was much appreciated.

Szabi was a very interesting guide combining history with present day life.

The two and a half hour tour was just right . Our tour guide Regina , had a good balance between factual information and fun ! The audio volume and tempo was comfortable . Would have no problem recommending Guru tours to others .

We really really enjoyed Robert’s tour through Budapest. He has it all - great jokes, dark stories (especially enjoyed those!), lots of history. It was perfectly through and through. Although he kept telling us we are the tough crowd I hoped he nevertheless enjoyed the tour as much as we did. We just the quite types and prefer to listen rather than to speak.

Robert's tour is so great that we took it once last year and went again this year with family that was visiting. He is extremely knowledgeable and communicated the city’s history in a really engaging way. The tour was well structured, moved at a comfortable pace, and combined the major sites with thoughtful context. We also really enjoyed the pop culture facts he shared with us about the city throughout the tour. Robert also answered all of our questions and provided us with excellent recommendations for the best places to visit and eat around the city. I would strongly recommend this tour to anyone seeking a deeper, more comprehensive introduction to Budapest.

The tour with Istvan was a great experience. We learned a lot of interesting information about the city—its history, as well as the culture and everyday life of Hungarians. In addition, the guide was happy to share tips that helped us better understand his country’s culture. He recommended places worth visiting and restaurants, shared interesting films, and even… gave us access to a Spotify playlist with Hungarian music. I highly recommend it.

We had a fantastic experience with the Budapest Free Walking Tour. Blanka was absolutely lovely as a guide—her knowledge of the city and genuine love for Budapest really came through throughout the tour. She explained the history in a clear, engaging way and made everything easy to follow. At the end of the tour, she even did a fun mini quiz with chocolate prizes, which was such a nice touch and ended the experience on a high note. We got to see all the major sites while also learning interesting details we wouldn’t have noticed on our own. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you want a knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide and a fun, well-paced introduction to the city.
