Hi there, my name's Otis and I'm an Australian working here in Saint-Malo as an English teacher. I'm fascinated by the history of this city and am keen to share it with you. In my spare time I love cooking new recipes, playing football and going rock climbing.

Tour description

A sleepy seaside town, full of enchanting architecture, but jump back 80 years and we would see Allied bombs raining down upon holed up Nazis. Jump back another 150 years and we'd be amongst some of the richest men in France, corsairs, pirates that had engorged themselves on English bounty, all in the name of the French king of course. Jump back again, well, we'll get there as we explore the Intra Muros, their ramparts and the lands and seas beyond.

This tour is the story of a town that has shifted and adapted through the eras of history, yet has always maintained a strong identity of independence that continues to this very day. We can trace back its history beyond the modern history you may be used to.

This tour will begin and end just next to the tourism office, outside of Intra Muros.
