A trendy, quieter street connecting Harajuku to Omotesando, known for boutique shops, cafes, and a relaxed atmosphere.
Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku is a landmark of modern architecture in the area. Designed by Hiroshi Nakamura, its most iconic feature is the kaleidoscopic mirrored entrance, which creates an unforgettable visual effect as it reflects the surrounding urban landscape.
Designed by Tadao Ando, this shopping complex blends luxury and contemporary architecture. Its sleek, multi-level structure is a testament to Ando’s minimalist design.
A modern architectural marvel by SANAA (Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa). The building features a translucent facade that beautifully interacts with light.
Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, this store is a standout with its distinctive glass-panel facade. It has become a symbol of cutting-edge fashion and architecture.
Created by Toyo Ito, this building is inspired by the zelkova trees that line Omotesando. Its facade is an architectural interpretation of a tree, blending nature and modernity.
Designed by renowned architect Kengo Kuma, the SunnyHills store in Minami-Aoyama is a striking example of his “jiigoku-gumi” design, inspired by traditional Japanese wooden joinery. The building’s intricate lattice-like facade is crafted from natural cedar, blending seamlessly with the surrounding environment and evoking a sense of warmth and harmony.
Final stop of the tour. Designed by Kengo Kuma, the Nezu Museum’s architecture incorporates traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern elements. Visitors are encouraged to continue exploring the museum’s art collection and beautiful Japanese garden at their own pace.
