Tour description

We begin our tour at Rathausplatz, the heart of Augsburg. Here, we’ll admire the impressive Augsburg Town Hall – a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture designed by Elias Holl. Right next to it, we’ll find the Perlachturm, a former watchtower offering a fantastic panoramic view of the city.

From there, we’ll head to the Old Stock Exchange, which was once an important trading center during Augsburg’s Golden Age.

Our next stop is Fuggerplatz, a central square closely linked to the history of the renowned Fugger family. We’ll learn about the economic and social influence of this powerful merchant dynasty that shaped Augsburg in the 15th and 16th centuries.

Next, we’ll stroll through the charming district of Little Venice, with its picturesque canals reminiscent of the famous lagoon city.

We’ll then visit the Brecht House, the birthplace of the renowned playwright Bertolt Brecht, now a museum dedicated to his life and work.

From there, we’ll continue to the Rudolf Diesel House, the birthplace of the engineer Rudolf Diesel, who invented the diesel engine. The museum offers fascinating insights into his life and groundbreaking inventions.

Next on our itinerary is the Leopold Mozart House, the birthplace of Leopold Mozart, the father of the world-famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

We will then visit the Augsburg Cathedral, an impressive structure blending Romanesque and Gothic architectural elements. Here, we’ll delve into the rich history of this remarkable building.

Before our final stop, we’ll explore the Roman Wall, a fascinating remnant from the time when Augsburg was a Roman provincial capital, allowing us to experience the city’s ancient past firsthand.

Finally, we’ll conclude our tour in the Hofgarten, a beautiful Baroque garden, perfect for relaxing and reflecting on the day’s experiences while enjoying the serene atmosphere.

This tour will introduce us to Augsburg’s most important sights, bringing the city’s rich history, culture, and architectural gems to life.
