Hello! 🙋🏻♂️ I am Roly, a young man from Havana... I have lived all my life in this wonderful city, therefore I know it inside out... passionate about its history, its art and its architecture. Added to this, I am super communicative and I love making new friends from all over the world and sharing what we have, helping them get to know my city and anything else they need when visiting a new place.
Welcome👋 to the only Tobacco tour in Havana. Where we will tell stories and anecdotes that you will not find in books📚
We want you to feel like one of our friends, discovering with us the mysteries of tobacco and the charms of this city.
On our tour we will discuss the intricate relationship between the city and tobacco, highlighting how these leaves have been part of the national identity and have been fundamental in the creation of the nation itself.
Let's enjoy the secrets and charms of tobacco, of this city and its history. Tobacco is more than just a product; it is a cultural pillar. It is a symbol of power and prestige.
This tour will begin at Guayasamín Park with the introductory part and the stops will be:
1 St. Francis of Assisi Square
Here we will explore the initial relationship between the church and tobacco.
2 Plaza de Armas
Spanish tobacco policy on the island.
3 Cathedral Square
Mestizaje and wars of independence.
4 Buena Vista Curry Club (optional)
This experience is optional and costs 25 euros or USD.
Where we will taste a cigar and pair it with coffee, rum, Cuban chocolate and a master cigar sommelier.
Don't miss out on this unique experience in the land of tobacco. We're sure you'll love it.
We are waiting for you!
I will be in a small park called Guayasamín, which is located on Mercaderes Street and the corner of Lamparilla, in front of the maternal and child home. It will be easy for you to recognize me. I will be wearing a red polo shirt and a hat.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
