Düsseldorf is a really interesting city that offers an interesting contrast between the old town (Altstadt) and the modern buildings (Medienhafen). If you are not sure where to start exploring this city, let me show you this beautiful place from the perspective of someone who knows and calls this city home.
Our tour will take you into the old town of Düsseldorf (Altstadt), where you can still find traces of the old walls that protected the city. This is where I will show you a Düsseldorf you didn't expect: the city of romance , full of traditions and tales that will make you see Düsseldorf in a new way.
One of my favourite spots is the Rhine. From there I will show you how the city has changed in the last decades. The urban development is really impressive and my images will make you feel like you were in Düsseldorf in the past centuries.
My tour is more than just a tour of the city's tourist spots . It's a chance to live and breathe Düsseldorf through the eyes of someone who loves the city . I won't just take you to the tourist spots , but I'll also show you the true essence of the city I call home.
So, shall we go for a walk?
The meeting point will be at the exit of the "Heinrich Heine" station, just outside the "Scotch and Soda" store. I will be carrying a red umbrella with a duck on it, just like in the pictures. I will also always have a black portfolio with me, in which will be all the pictures that I will use to introduce you to the history of Düsseldorf and so that you can compare the before and after of the city.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
