Hi! My name is Oscar, I am 20 years old, and born and raised in Berlin. I grew up in Prenzlauer Berg, the area I will show you around in the 2hrs we have. My interests are football and arts, and i love learning about random things and different cultures. The free-walking tour will explore a bit of the history of the wall, Berlins market and street food culture, the multicultural environment which makes the area so special, before the we finish with a round of "Bierball" a popular drinking game in parks. See you soon!
We start the tour at the fire station on Oderberger Strasse before walking on to Mauerpark and Arkonaplatz and checking out the markets. On the way there we make a pit stop at the Juicery and a short stop at the Wall. I tell you in detail about the history of the Wall and its effects on Prenzlauer Berg today. Then we continue on our way to the Kulturbrauerei, where I give an insight into Berlin's nightlife and beer culture. After looking at the Kulturbrauerei we try some kebab and currywurst on Eberswalder Strasse before we head to a classic Späti and get some beer to end the tour with a traditional round of beer ball. To fully enjoy the tour and try the food and drink, it is recommended that you take 5 to 10 euros with you, depending on how much you want to try!
We'll meet next to the fire station exit. I will always wear lots of rings and bracelets.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
