Tour description
We welcome you to Edinburgh's New Town with this general history tour in Spanish. We will walk through an architectural example of elegance and urban and intellectual growth of the city.
From the meeting point, we will head towards St Andrew Sq, where we will highlight the construction and design process of its impressive buildings, such as Dundas House , a neoclassical mansion from 1774.
We will walk along Queen St, where we will admire the impressive buildings that line this street. In particular, the National Portrait Gallery, a Gothic Renaissance style building that houses a vast collection of Scottish portraits. On Thistle St , we will discover the first two houses built in the area, proof of the careful and elegant design that characterizes the entire city.
On George St , the main artery of the New Town, named after King George III, we will talk about its commercial life, then we will head to Rose St , known for its lively nightlife where we will talk about the history of the pubs and restaurants that have been a pillar of the local community for centuries.
We will end at Charlotte Sq, an outstanding example of Georgian design. Designed by Robert Adam, this square is a masterpiece of 18th century architecture and urbanism. We will talk about its magnificent design, the stories of its residents and curiosities of the area.
