Tour description
1. Introduction at Goethals Monument:
this is the meeting point at the roundabout of this monument honoring George Goethals he was a civil engineer and United States officer famous for supervising the construction of the Panama Canal.
2. Administration Building of the Panama Canal
was ignaurated on july 15 1914 to phisically centralize administratives activities, we go inside the building to admire the murals about the construction of the canal.
3.Governor's Mansion
The house was first occupied Lt. Col. George W. Goethals who succeded John F. Stevens as Chief Engineer in 1907 originally located in the construction-day town of Culebra, overlooking what is now Gaillard Cut the 8 mile cut through the spine of the istmus to complete the construction of the canal. The house was moved in 1914 to its actual position in Balboa Heigths to be the official residence of Canal Zone Governos.
4.Quarry Heigths
was the site of the senior headquarters and nerve center for all U.S. military forces from 1915 to 1997 destined to the ranking military comand in Panama, Generals and army Colonels.
5. Ascend Ancon Hill:
Start the ascent up Ancon Hill, following well-marked trails.
- Pause at designated viewpoints along the way to catch your breath and admire panoramic vistas of Panama City, the Panama Canal, and the surrounding rainforest.
6. Historical Significance:

7. Summit Experience:

8. Descend to Mi Pueblito on the other side of the hill, is a tourist center with samples and replicas of the main ethnic groups of Panama, is divided in tree different plazas, Plaza Afroantillana with the colorfull houses from beginning of the century, Plaza Interiorana with the Pollera(national dress) museum and Plaza Indigena with indian houses replicas from different etnic groups,
Mipueblito also have restaurants and souvenir stores. It is optional you can either end this tour at Mi Pueblito or in the same place we start the tour.
