ArcheoTour through the City of Cadiz!🦋 ✨ ☀️
Starting at the iconic Plaza de San Juan de Dios, where an expert guide in archaeology and history will welcome you and give you a brief introduction to the rich history of Cadiz. From there, we will head towards the Barrio del Pópulo, one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, where we will be able to admire the Puerta de Tierra, an ancient gateway to the city dating back to the 16th century.
We will continue our tour to the Cathedral of Cadiz, an impressive baroque-style building that houses a large number of works of art and historical relics.
After visiting the cathedral, we will head to the Roman Theatre of Cadiz, an important archaeological site dating back to Roman times. Here we can admire the ruins of the theatre and learn about life in the ancient Roman city of Gades.
The tour will continue to Santa Catalina Castle, a military fortress built in the 16th century to protect the city from pirate attacks. From there, we will be able to enjoy stunning views of the city and the sea.
We will end our tour at the Museum of Cadiz, where we can admire a wide collection of archaeological artifacts and works of art that tell the history of the city from ancient times to the present day.
