We are avid travellers interested in culture, heritage and tourism. Whenever we travel, we participate in walking tours. We believe that walking tours are the best way to discover a city. We are local licensed tour guides who are very keen to share the city state of Singapore with tourists and visitors. We call ourselves ‘Lah Kopi Tours’. ‘Lah Kopi’ means (in Hokkien dialect) to get together in a relaxed manner. This is how we want you to feel, spend time with us leisurely manner as we bring you refreshingly local experiences. Come join us and we love to have you onboard our tours.
From 14th century to the founding of modern Singapore to post-independence, this enchanting part of the Singapore city will leave you so awed by its charm, heritage and stories.
Beginning with ‘reflections of the Singapore River’, you transcend through time as we explore Fort Canning Hill and a few conserved buildings since colonial days.
We will visit the Peranakan Museum (admission to the museum exhibits is encouraged after the tour) and the Armenian Church and talk about these two communities. The next highlight is St Andrew’s Cathedral (Singapore’s oldest chapel) and we will end the tour at the National Gallery of Singapore and show you the secret spot that will keep your memories of this enchanting city linger on and on!
This city walking tour is unique and covers the route not travelled (we're quite certain of that), yet it uncovers the charm and vibes and allows the visitor to appreciate and soak in everything that our city state has to offer.
Hear the untold stories from the guide and take some very Instagramable photos for keepsake! We will share with you our local recommendations (just tell us your needs).
Join us as we discover our enchanting city!
I will be in front of Burger King restaurant outside Exit E of Clarke Quay MRT station. I will be wearing a Turquoise (Sea Blue) Polo T.
Experience the Singapore River from Coleman Bridge. You will also get to see the beautiful skyline of Singapore with the iconic Marina Bay Sands. We will point you to the former Hill Street Police Station, where many Insta photographs can be taken.
We will stand at the foot of the hill and talk about 14th Century Singapore, where Kings, Princes and Princesses lived. We will then move along a few colonial buildings - a fire station, a club and a school.
Learn about two important communities that played a role in our Singapore story - the Armenians and Peranakans. Fall in love with the Peranakan Museum and the Armenian Church.
Centrally located in the city, St Andrew's Cathedral is one of the oldest churches in Singapore. Admire the building features and hear the stories of this church in pre- and post-colonial days.
National Gallery of Singapore is a grand building formed by the former Supreme Court and the City Hall (Municipal) building. Hear more stories of Singapore's history, and the tour will end with recommendations of things to do and see and places to eat in Singapore.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
