Tour description

Welcome to a charming two-hour walking tour of Carcassonne! Nestled in the heart of the Occitanie region in southern France, Carcassonne is renowned for its medieval fortress, which stands as a testament to the city's rich history and architectural grandeur.

Waterways and Walkways- my tour will show you some of the natural beauty of Carcassonne, as well as the winding little streets and lesser known spots that tell the stories of this old city.
Starting in Square André  Chenier, we will follow part of the Canal du Midi up and around the upper Bastide area, looping back down past the cathedral and towards the river Aude, the Barbacane neighbourhood and skirting la Cité  before we arrive at our finishing point at le Pont Vieux, my hope is for you to see Carcassonne from different perspectives.

Throughout our tour, I'll share captivating stories and insights into Carcassonne's unique blend of history and modern allure. While two hours merely scratch the surface of Carcassonne's enchantment, this walking tour promises to offer you a delightful taste of the city's medieval splendor and French charm!
