Tour description

Welcome to Izmir!

Located on the western coast of Turkey. The country's third largest city and the center of cultural and economic activities. It dates back thousands of years ago, and evidence of human settlements dates back to the 3rd millennium BC.

The best way to experience the culture of the city is to explore historical districts such as Konak, Alsancak and Karşıyaka.  These neighborhoods are home to a variety of architectural styles, including Ottoman-era mansions and Art Nouveau buildings.

One of the most iconic symbols of Izmir is the Clock Tower located in Konak district. Built in 1901, this elegant tower has become a symbol of the city and a popular spot for tourists and locals alike.

Another place to see in Izmir is a large market that has been in operation for centuries Kemeraltı Bazaar is the region.

Points of interest

  •  Izmir city center
  •  Kemeraltı
  •  Agora

 Full disclosure

Izmir, the third largest city (ancient name Smyrna), since ancient times, it is known as the "pearl of Asia Minor". Once we get to the top of the Antique Elevator Building you will have time to take a photo of the city.  While drinking your morning coffee, you can listen to your guide tell you about the history of the region.

Our second stop will be the Government Agora, dating back to the Hellenistic period.  It is very exciting to visit the place where Izmir was once ruled during the Hellenistic Period.  Ancient Bazaar (Kemeralti) is one of the most crowded districts of the city.  Its commercial importance has never diminished since it began in the 18th century.  Shopping for souvenirs will be a great experience for you.  Konak Square is known for its clock tower. Ancient Elevator Building of the city is located in a different neighborhood.

Of course, when it comes to exploring a new city, there's no substitute for the expertise of a local guide.  A knowledgeable guide can help you navigate the city's winding streets, provide insight into local culture, and help you discover hidden gems you might not otherwise find on your own.
