Free Tour Dark Lisbon: mysteries, legends and crimes
Tour description
Throughout the two hours that this fascinating tour lasts, we will reveal secrets that are hidden from the sight of travelers and Lisbon residents, and as the night envelops us in its darkness, we will delve into the oldest legends of the city and its most chilling crimes.
We will begin as always with Joseph I, who we will discover that, despite having survived the famous earthquake, he was a victim of his family's curse. We will also take a new look at Plaza de Comércio and Baixa, revealing the hidden meanings left by their Masonic architects.
Next we will pass through the old medieval Jewish quarter to enter the Kabbalistic mystique of the Sephardic community, and we will reveal Lisbon's unknown connection with the Holocaust. After this we will ascend towards Chiado and Bairro Alto, where we will talk about the secret societies and the witches that once inhabited those streets.
We will end our tour at the magnificent Sao Pedro de Alcántara viewpoint, where we will tell the story of Diogo Alves, a ruthless murderer who terrorized Lisbon and whose head is still preserved.
