Great to meet you, I am Ben. I founded the local guide team in Ho Chi Minh city with knowledgeable and passionate co-hosts Daniel, Bob, Emmie, Den, Lily, Urri, Hani, and others who are well-trained. We are university students who are from rural areas Vietnam and come to Ho Chi Minh City to study at the university. Our interest is that we like to show people around our city and share our perspectives and stories. We know the hidden gems and have a very deep passion and love for our city, which we like to share. Each local guide comes from a different rural area Vietnam with a different background. Overview:
This cooking tour is designed to present the nostalgic memories and traditional values of the Vietnamese lifestyle. You will have an opportunity to visit a local house which is my aunt's house, join them in preparing some authentic Vietnamese traditional food, and have a chance to actually grow and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Join in a cooking class with local people and grow vegetables as well as wander around the paddy field to enjoy and chill out

ITINERARY:
- Get picked up at your hotel address in central districts, hop on our scooter, you will sit behind and enjoy the ride to my aunt's house. On the way to my aunt's house, we will pass by many local districts, you can even learn history, landscape, and culture while on the scooter with us.
- We will travel beyond the tourist spots to a local neighborhood of Binh Chanh district, where you feel tranquil, peaceful, and happy while driving through many green rice fields, You can see the china town, we see the biggest market, lantern market, fabric market.
- After arriving my aunt's house, visit the house and gardening activities. We will show their garden and show the view, name the plants and their effects.
- Customers will harvest vegetables for their meal and start to grow new plants for the next tour (sustainable)
- Personal hygiene, wash hands and food preparation (wash vegetables, learn about ingredients name, kitchen utensils in Vietnamese)
- Learn how to cook rice properly
- Make the meals: vegetables dish, main dish, soup
- Have lunch with locals and learn the Vietnamese custom, share story, tell opinions
- Try dessert such as different fruits
- Farewell
MENU:
There will be 4 options:
1. Water spinach/Morning glory stir-fried with garlic, Squid stir-fried with vegetables (corriando, pineaapples, tomato, etc) (mực xào, thơm, cà chua), Pork ribs with vegetables, Dessert.
2. Bittermelon stir-fried with eggs, Stir-fried beef, Purple yam (ube) soup, dessert.
3. Green bean stir fried, Braised chicken with ginger, Sour soup (snakehead fish), dessert.
4. This option for vegetarian people: Tofu fried with lemongrass, Tofu simmered with pineapple, Vegetables with mushrooms, Dessert.
NOTE:
- My aunt's house is 20 KM away the city center.
- It lasts 5 hours for the tour
- The food menu is 250 000 VND per person
- I want to confirm that the tour is by SCOOTER, not walking. I can pick you up at your hotel address in central districts 1,3, or 4. Other local districts, you will meet us at the meeting place, Saigon Opera House.
Because this tour is by scooter, so we will have 2 options for you:
First option: The rented scooter fee is 7$ USD = 180,000 VND per scooter, you drive it by yourself, you need to get scooter international license, you will be responsible for accidents, broken scooters, or anything happens on the tour, I don't cover insurance for this. This option is group tour, we need 5 guests to start. You must know how to drive the scooter well and confident with driving in this traffic.
Second option: We will be your drivers & tour guides, you will sit behind our scooters, each tour guide drives each guest, including insurance for your accidents. This option is a private tour, so I can even conduct the tour with 1 guest. I will be your driver and tour guide who are spoken English very well

Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
