Evening Beer and Wall Tour - History Walk and Social

Winter friendly walking tour with beer stop and indoor attractions.

This tour is a bit history, a bit social. We explore the wonderful Berlin Wall Memorial together with a beer or coffee along the way. Get a full telling of this fascinating story while visiting the recreated wall and the indoor museum. We end in Prenzlauer Berg with the option of nice bar/restaurant from where you can dine and continue your evening if you wish.

Meet Point:  Meet at  Nordbahnhof U-Bahn station downstairs by the Ghost Stations display (see image in pictures). 

I am an experienced tour guide and will give the complete story of rise and fall of the Berlin Wall as we go along.

Together we will discover the whole story of Berlin divided, walled in, and united again. This is a complete tour with diagrams and maps showing how the city was divided and using the Berlin Wall Memorial Park to bring the story alive. Expect a full picture of this extraordinary story and how it continues to define the city to this day.

The tour lasts about 2 hours and ends in lively Prenzlauer Berg near Eberstwalder str (U-bahn and Tram).

We will visit: 

• The Tunnels + other escape options
• The visitor centre and museum 
• The Reconciliation Chapel
• The archive with video footage from the fall of the wall. 
• Ghost Station Ubahn stop

You will learn about: 

• The post-war settlement
• The division of Germany
• The coming of the wall
• The leaders of the East German regime and USSR
• Life in the East, in the West and (as a guard) in between.
• The fall of the wall
• Life in East Germany today
