Tour description

In this free tour of the Golden Age through Seville we will delve into one of the most glorious times of the city of Seville , when the Andalusian capital was the headquarters of business with America:

" Whoever has not seen Seville, has not seen wonder . " It was the most common phrase when talking about the Andalusian capital in the 16th and 17th centuries.

Itinerary:

We will meet in the Plaza de San Francisco to begin a walking tour that will allow us to discover the most glorious era of Seville . Let's go there!

After the discovery of the New World, Venetians, Genoese, Flemish, Germans and many other European citizens settled in Seville to start prosperous businesses in the so-called " Door and Port of America" . We will reveal all the curiosities and secrets of this exciting story!

During our free tour we will admire the Plaza del Triunfo , known for the famous UNESCO triangle. Did you know that this place is home to up to three buildings protected as World Heritage Sites ? We will admire the exteriors of the General Archive of the Indies , the Real Alcázar of Seville, the Cathedral and the Giralda

We will talk about the Casa de la Contratación , a key place to understand the Sevillian Golden Age . Good land communications and favorable navigation along the Guadalquivir were crucial elements in turning Seville into the headquarters of business with America .

We will continue walking and seeing other emblematic buildings such as the Royal Mint, the Customs House, the Caridad Church or the Atarazanas. We will also approach the Guadalquivir to admire the Torre del Oro while we review the fascinating expeditions of Magellan and Elcano .

After two hours of walking, we will end the free tour on the Alcalde Marqués de Contadero promenade .
