In this tour we will walk through the most important and enchanting places in the center of our city, discovering its fascinating history that has already amazed people from all over the world.
We will meet at Plaza Nueva, in the heart of the historic center of Granada. From there we will take a very special route: we will discover the history of the city in chronological order!
The character of a city is always linked to that of the different peoples who built and inhabited it. And there have been many peoples who have inhabited Granada, but those who built and lived here the most were the Muslims of Al-Ándalus and the Christians who arrived later.
And that is why Granada is a Muslim and Christian city, and traces of these two cultures await us around every corner.
First of all we will go to the Albaicin, the ancient Muslim city of Granada, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, discovering its past and present. We will continue until we reach a magical place from where we will see the most precious jewel of this city, the Alhambra. There we will understand the wonders hidden inside the fortress and its exciting history, all in front of an exceptional panorama.
After getting to know the Muslim city, we will continue forward in history to discover the city built by the Christians who conquered Granada after about eight centuries.
We will stop at Plaza Isabel la Católica, where we will meet an Italian sailor who finally managed to get the support of a Spanish queen to begin a journey that would change the history of the entire world.
Afterwards, we will continue to the area of the Cathedral, the greatest sign of Christian victory. We will learn about the history of the Catholic Monarchs, the Christian conquerors, and probably the most important kings in the entire history of Spain. In fact, we will stop in front of the Royal Chapel, where their burial is still located today.
Already in front of the Cathedral we will stop at every detail of its beautiful baroque facade and talk about its most interesting features.
Finally, we will arrive at Plaza Bibrambla, a very central and excellent place to continue the discovery of Granada and its gastronomy after finishing the Tour.
A local and passionate guide is eager to show you the wonderful city of Granada and tell you its history. Don't miss the opportunity!
