London resident for the past six and a half years, working in central Westminster. Always jump onto a walking tour when visiting a new city, and have been curious about setting up my own for some time. Have fallen in love with the sights, architecture & history of London, spending many a lunch break & tube ride learning about London's lore and many, many stories. Hope to be able to show this city off to you!

Tour description

Visiting London for a few days and looking to tick off all the essential sites? Need a picture in front of Big Ben or Buckingham Palace but loathed to ask someone to take it for you or use a selfie stick? Don't worry - I have you covered!
Come join me, (Little) Ben, on a brisk, lively tour of central London where I'll point out the best spots to snap a pic and bestow a few humorous anecdotes along the way. What makes Big Ben's chime so unique? Why are red telephone boxes red? And how did they rid Trafalgar Square of all those pesky pigeons anyway?

During the 2hr tour we'll visit:

  • Big Ben & The Houses of Parliament
  • Westminster Abbey
  • Downing Street
  • Whitehall & Horse Guards
  • Trafalgar Square
  • Admiralty Arch
  • The Mall
  • St James's Palace
  • Buckingham Palace

We're a rain or shine tour, and while London is renowned for its fabulous weather, the traveller is still advised to bring an umbrella.
After the tour, you can join me for a pint/soft drink/glass of tap water at a nearby, signature British institution: 'the pub'. If you've worked up an appetite then treat your palate to a culinary classic: 'fish and chips' - should you be tired of all those pretentious European dishes.

Hope to see you there,
Ben

Highlights

What will we see on this tour?

Meeting point:
Triple-Arched Bridge, King Charles St, London SW1A 2NH, UK
I will be standing next to the King Charles Street Arch at the intersection of King Charles Street and Parliament Street. I will be wearing a trademark red shirt and holding an umbrella for quick identification. The glasses are designed to make me look learned and intelligent, but I also need them to see. You can't miss me :)
1
Outside visit
King Charles Street Arch
We'll be meeting up next to the archway that connects two of the UK's great offices of state together: the Foreign Office and HM Treasury.
2
Outside visit
Parliament Square
Parliament Square sits at a crossroad of where power resides in the UK: the executive, judicial, legislative, and one more..
3
Outside visit
Westminster Abbey
The site of royal coronations dating back to William the Conqueror. Pious King Henry III ordered the Abbey constructed in the 13th century, making it nearly 800 years old!
