Best of Algiers Tour
Tour description
The Casbah "The Citadel" is where you will walk the narrow cobbled streets and explore the intricate houses, palaces and mosques dating back to the Ottoman period.
We arrive at one of the best-preserved Ottoman mosques in the Lower Casbah and the first large building that many people see, the 17th-century Ketchaoua Mosque.
We head into the city centre just off the main street of Martyrs Square , where you can see a large, bright yellow modern mosque and an ex-colonial church.
We walked past the Fishermen's Mosque and along the Promenade facing the sea. It just instantly reminds you of the port of Marseille with its small colourful boats and you'll also find a cluster of beautiful European buildings.
We continue to the center of Algiers passing the large whitewashed French colonial buildings and explore different districts of the city.
We passed by the most colossal building in the centre, the Grand Poste office, which is a fine example of early 20th century Moorish architecture of French design.
