Hi, I’m John and a retired quantity surveyor, a Londoner and spent all my life working in London for a large consultancy getting to know its streets very well. Whilst working I started researching my first tours for colleagues which became very popular for team bonding after work finished for the day. After retiring I quickly decided I wanted to continue with my walks as I love meeting people and sharing my hidden City with them, I have been.doing them now for about 12 years. I’m passionate about a the City’s 2000 years of history, the buildings and the people who helped make that amazing history.
In my spare time, during the summer months I am a volunteer lock keeper on the London canals which is wonderful for meeting people. I also love travelling all over Europe on train holidays and visiting other cities and a wonderful way to see the countryside.
