Tour description

Maipú, more than 200 years of history.

In this tour we will tell you the history of the Maipú party , formerly called Monsalvo, and which is considered the "mother of parties" , because all those who today make up this region gradually became detached from it.
We will start from the times when the aborigines were the only inhabitants, until the arrival of the first landowners among them Francisco Ramos Mejía and we will delve into the historical treaty of Miraflores, signed in this territory in 1820, between this landowner who represented the aborigines and the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires.
We also go through the history of the first immigrants and how they forged the emergence of the city of Maipú, also considered a San Martiniana city.
We will know the cultural, historical and architectural legacy that immigrants have left us. In this tour we will also tell you about stories of key figures in national history.

Some places where we will stop will be the following:

  • Plaza San Martín, the history of Maipú through its monuments
  • italian society
  • Train station
  • Workshop of the comparsa Alexpamá
  • Kakel Huincul Municipal Museum
  • House of the writer Leopoldo Marechal
  • Our Lady of the Rosary Parish
