Hello and welcome! My name's Nuno and I'm a professionally-trained Tour Guide currently residing in the city of Braga. Having started as a freelancer back in 2018, during my time as a professional guide, I had the chance to work with people from all walks of life, from the common man to diplomats and I love doing this! I have worked in many areas of this country - including the Douro Valley, Braga, Guimarães, Coimbra, and Aveiro - all the while traveling all over Europe, both as a regular tourist and as a hitch-hiker. By booking with me, I can promise you an entertaining and funny, yet factual and researched tour, filled with little tidbits of information from someone passionate about his City and its history.
Once upon a time, like you, I was but a stranger in this city, just going about my regular routine, unaware of all the history, stories, and legends that surrounded me. The day I started learning, was the day I realised how little I knew about those things that I'd always taken for granted as just "being there".
If there's one thing I can tell you about history, is that the more you learn, the more you realise how much meaning there is to everything there is around you.
My guarantee to you on this tour is that you'll not only see things, but I'll also attempt to teach you how to notice some of these details; all with a small pinch of humor and a smile.
Some of the key points we will see during this tour are (in no specific order):
I will also tell you stories about the city, its past, and its people, as well as tell you about some of the traditions and even food!
Meeting Point: Near the Basilica of Congregados, I'll be wearing a grey shoulder bag with a big "A" in black on it.
In the Praça da República, usually facing the Basilica of Congregados, I will be wearing a identification badge.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
