Free tour: Discovering the past on the current modernist route

On this tour, we'll give a glimpse into the modernist route, discover corners of the ancient road that connected Roman Barcelona with its surrounding towns, and conclude at the majestic Cathedral.

We'll start at the top of Paseo de Gracia and walk past some of the iconic buildings along the modernist route.

We'll pass by the well-known Plaza Cataluña and stroll down the shopping street known as Portal del Ángel , stopping at a shop selling artisanal nougat, the typical Christmas dessert that is served on every Spanish table during Christmas (the shop is open year-round).

Finally, we'll end up at Cathedral Square , where I'll tell you some interesting facts about it, and we'll see a small piece of the Roman aqueduct.

This isn't a specific tour of the modernist route, but it does help you situate yourself and understand the transformation of buildings and streets from the past to what we see today.
