Free tour of the Montmartre district (past and present)
Tour description
Paris and Montmartre are one and the same. Apart from the unique charm of the place, we want to show you its present and past so that you can enjoy and feel part of this beautiful neighborhood . Well-known artists such as Van Gogh and Picasso himself lived here. They frequented its streets and places in search of inspiration. Today, art is still present.
We will begin the visit with its famous Red Light District, its cabarets and the famous Moulin Rouge, a symbol of Paris and the Belle Epoque, and the Moulin de la Galette, declared a Historical Monument in 1939.
In the quintessential bohemian district of Paris, everything is imbued with that character where freedom and equality are felt more than anywhere else, its streets are full of cafés, terraces and artists who paint on the street and enjoy the life of Montmartre. And if there is one thing this district is famous for, it is undoubtedly for having been the home of the sweet Amèlie Poulin. Throughout our tour we will surely remember different scenes and places from the film such as the Café des deux moulins.
We will end our walk in the surroundings of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart , there is little we can add about one of the symbols of Europe and one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the world. Construction began in 1875 and its tower reaches 83 meters in height. An imposing basilica that undoubtedly dominates the entire horizon and from where we can enjoy one of the best panoramic views of Paris, if not the best.
During the visit you will enjoy and get to know the most emblematic and essential places in the famous Montmartre neighborhood . Although it is difficult to describe the neighborhood in its entirety, this is only a small brushstroke of the tour, just as a magician does not reveal his tricks, we as guides want you to let yourself be carried away and surprised by our places of passage and the extraordinary stories that you will find along our way.
