We will walk where powerful emperors were elected and crowned, and visit the place considered the cradle of German democracy . It is a journey in the footsteps of those who shaped our history: from visionary poets and thinkers to courageous democrats.
Here's what you can expect:
We delve deep into the era when Frankfurt was the political center of the Holy Roman Empire . For over 400 years, German emperors were elected and crowned here. We walk along the historic coronation route and experience the leap from the imperial era to the birth of German democracy.
Our tour highlights:
- 🏛️ Römerberg: The historic town hall and heart of the old town.
- 👑 Imperial Hall: Where the magnificent coronation banquets once took place.
- 🏘️ New Old Town & Chicken Market: An architectural gem of reconstruction and modernity.
- ⚖️ House of the Golden Scales: One of the most magnificent half-timbered houses in the city.
- ⛪ St. Bartholomew's Cathedral: The monumental site of the imperial elections.
- 🎨 Saalgasse: A colorful mix of bold, modern postmodernism.
- 🏗️ Wertheym House: The only half-timbered house in the old town that survived the war.
- 🌉 Iron Bridge: The most famous photo spot for a view of the skyline.
- 🗳️ St. Paul's Church: The symbol of freedom and the first German National Assembly.
