Tour description
Are you aware of the most beautiful residential area in Vienna? Have you ever wondered where the most influential personalities of the last 150 years settled?
Join me on a tour through the unique district of historical mansons and let’s experience the eventful history of the city and its fascinating protagonists.
We meet in front of the student dormitory „Viennabase 19“ which you can easily reach by tram from downtown Vienna.
- At the start we will talk about the origins of the cottage movement and get to know the most important initiators and their prominent architects by means of selected villas.
- Furtheron we meet outstanding personalities from the fields of art, medicine, science, media, politics and economy.
- We get an insight into the networks of the historical Cottage society.
- Towards the end, in the unique Türkenschanzpark we learn about the developement of Vienna and the role of its suburbs.
- An excellent exhibition offers photographs of historical views.
- After about 2.5 hours our tour ends at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences and nearby restaurants invite you to a well-deserved break in the natural setting of the district.
