I'm Andreas, a 30 year old German born and raised in Nuremberg. The first walking tour tour I joined was with my grandfather who lived in Nuremberg for 86 years. He showed his 5 year old grandson his city. Now, 25 years later, I want to do the same to you and show you my city. This is my mission. Since I started this, a lot changed. Now we are an international team of born Nuremberg citizen, Italian historians and Columbian lawyers. We offer professional and passionate old-town tours in English, Spanish and German in the cities Nuremberg and Bamberg! We do what we do, because we love it and therefore we are happy to being your Gurus in Nuremberg and in Bamberg! For more check also our website at https://www.nurembergfreetour.com/

Tour description

Join our Nazi Rally Grounds Tour in Nuremberg, where history comes alive amidst the remnants of a dark past.

Our tour begins at the Flieger-Denkmal, a memorial of the fighter pilots of WWI and WWII.

Continuing our exploration, we arrive at the remainings of the former Luitpoldarena, a striking amphitheater designed for propaganda events and military displays, but today also a place to mourn the victims of the Nazi regime.

We proceed to the Kongresshalle, a colossal congress hall intended as a monumental centerpiece for Nazi propaganda events. Though never completed, its refelcting the intend to manipulate the masses by spectacle and fear.

As we move through the sprawling grounds, we encounter Zeppelinfeld, another imposing arena built to host Nazi rallies and mass gatherings. Imagine the fervent crowds and thunderous speeches that once echoed across this vast arena, as Hitler and his cohorts rallied support for their sinister agenda.

We also take our time to reflect the Nuremberg trials, the important aftermath to the 3rd Reich. Here the surviving highest ranks of the Nazi regime were brought to justice.

It also was meant to be the beginning of a process of denazification here in Germany.

This heritage, including the Nazi rallies, the events leading up to World War II the Nuremberg trials and most important the Holocaust, are the key to understand modern German political culture, and Nuremberg is one of the best cities to get in touch with it.

We end at the Doku-Zentrum, a museum dedicated to documenting the history of the Nazi rallies. Here, you'll have the opportunity to extend your insights into the ideology, propaganda, and atrocities of the Third Reich.
