Hi, I'm Sara Rua, born and raised in Comuna 13 of Medellin. I have 5 years of experience as a guide, sharing my story in this territory, previously violent and today transformed and safe for our visitors. I am a Technologist in tourist guidance and founder of the Parce Tours company, where I offer several tours in the city of Medellín and I have a very good team, very passionate and waiting with open arms for all tourists from Colombia and the rest of the world. My name is Sara and I invite you to live the best experience in Comuna 13 of Medellín, in the company of a local guide.
Our guides (Sara, Andrés, Eirene, Yuliana) will tell you about their experiences in that period of terror, for them and their families, who witnessed the cruelty of the clashes between the diferent armed groups. You will witness social transformation, through urban art.
You will find on the tour artistic murals with historical significance, told by your guide, street shows, (dance and improvisation) you can make your own graffiti, you will go up to the viewpoint, through the Mechanics Escalators from where you can observe much of Comuna 13 and Medellín.
You will also find urban art galleries, souvenir sales, the traditional ice creams of Comuna 13 (mango biche and maracumango), typical gastronomy and much more.
At the end of the tour, if you wish, you can continue exploring more of the Comuna on your own or our guide will accompany you back to the transportation.
We’ll be wearing a light blue t-shirt and a light blue umbrella (Parce Tours) We'll wait for you, outside the San Javier Metro Station, line B. There are two exits, DON’T EXIT on the Metrocable side, but the other side. If you arrive by car: Carrera 99 # 45-26, San Javier, Medellín (San Javier Metro Station) We will take public transportation, paying with the metro card or cash (COP) 1.900 per person.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
