Split's Old City Walking Tour
Tour description
Go back in time and walk with me in Diocletian's palace. Diocletian's Palace is one of the best preserved monuments of Roman architecture in the world. It is a combination of a luxury villa and a Roman military camp (castrum). This artistic ensemble is something not to be missed. We will take an exciting journey that begins on the bronze walkway map. Then we will access the substructures of the building where we will reveal many secrets. We will go to Diocletian's room where you can get in touch with the lifestyle of the Romans. Then, we will walk through the two main streets of Cardio and Decumanos which are the main streets of every Roman city. We will see the cathedral, the temple of Jupiter, four monumental gates, the statue of Gregorio de Knin, the Pjaca square, and the fruit square. You will also see the Peristyle, the center of the palace used for religious reasons. I will also show you the green market and the fish market.
