Hi, my name is Klara and I come from the delightful and green city of Zagreb. I have been living here my whole life and I am ready to share my love for this place with you. I am working as an electrical engineer but my free time I spend being outside with friends. I have experience in working with people, gained through scouts, jobs, and projects. I visited many free walking tours in different cities in Europe and that inspired me to make my own. I speak Croatian, English, German, and few words in Spanish. :)

Tour description

Walking through the streets of Zagreb, it is impossible not to see a large mountain rising above. Local people rush to the top every weekend.
If you want to experience Zagreb as a local, this tour is for you!

🔷Where do we go and why?
This tour takes you to the top of mountain Medvednica, Sljeme, at 1033 m. We will be taking a road called 'Bikčevićeva staza'.

You will find out why the mountain is called Medvednica (eng. bear mountain)? What role it had played in history? What secrets does it hide? You will see a beautiful landscape and hear some legends about aristocrats, fairies, and queens of Medvednica. After the tour, it will be clear why so many Zagreb people spend their weekends here.

🔹Where do we finish?
Tour ends at the top of the mountain, where you can find bars and restaurants. You can come back to the city by gondola, bus or walking.

🔷What do you need to take with and take care of?
You will need comfortable clothes for the hike. For footwear, you need sneakers or shoes. I do not recommend sandals, slippers, or similar.
WATER is a must have!
You can take clothes to change if you get sweaty.
Please note that the whole tour is uphill, and it is important that you can endure such physical activity.
