We are a fully independent group of local people (born and raised in Faro!) who like to share our rich history and bring visitors on an informative guided visit through our hometown!
The only free tours run by a group of true 'Farense' (Faro's born and bread) people. Only we, the few locals, are able to explain about the Portuguese and Algarvian ways of looking at life. The capital city of the Algarve, Faro comes as a surprise for many of the visitors to the region because often people would land here but would head straight into other places along the coast, while in our 'suspicious' opinion it is a city not to be missed! Of course, we are proud 'farenses' and therefore we love Faro. No one else can show you our hometown's secrets and mysteries better than us!
We have been hosting tours and welcoming people from all over the world since ever. Nowadays we provide a guided walking tour that introduces Faro to those interested in its long history. While learning about our cultural backgrounds, you will be entertained listening to the stories behind the most important monuments and points of interest in Faro old town and city centre.
When joining us, you will see how proud we feel about our rich heritage. Our guests tend to come back when they return year after year, mentioning how informative and engaging our tours can be. Hopefully, you will be joining us soon as well!
Our meeting point is by the monumental archway called 'Arco da Vila' located right next to the tourist info office in Faro. This is the main entrance to the old town with a bell tower and a clock, you can't miss it! Look for the friendly Farense (Faro's born and bread people!) with a totally red umbrella with our logo on it and a Faro Free Walking Tours badge!
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
