On this guided tour we will tour the "OLTRARNO" neighborhood , one of the most Florentine and unknown neighborhoods in the historic center. OLTRARNO is the heart of Florentinity , it is full of trattorias, artisan workshops, beautiful and elegant buildings , as well as curiosities, intrigues, secrets and history
We will meet in PLAZA SANTA TRINITA, next to the Column of Justice. From this point we will enter the neighborhood, whose name means "on the other side of the Arno River". Crossing the ARNO River through Ponte Santa Trinita
We will walk through its narrow streets, discovering uses, customs, secrets and local legends. Stopping in front of the Palace of Blanca Capello , you will live and be part of her intrigues, she was the lover of Francis I de Medici , second grand duke of the city.
Did you know that the “Gioconda” was Florentine? She is the protagonist of the most famous portrait in the world made by Leonardo da Vinci , we will see her birthplace .
The guided tour of Oltrarno will take us to the outside of the Pitti Palace. We will also show you the place where Miguel Angel , one of the most famous and important sculptors, carried out his anatomy studies clandestinely.
