Ian's tour was wonderful! I loved that it got me out of the touristy areas and into Mixcoac, a commuter's area with a booming food scene. Ian shared fun facts about the area throughout the tour, and the food was absolutely delicious.

We got a lot of information about a lot of different topics, which made it a perfect first introduction to Mexico-city and which kept the walk interesting the whole time! Belén is very friendly and knows the answer to all of our questions.

Glorious food, great stories, and a guide who explains everything, giving you the context and history behind every taco. It doesn’t feel like a tour, it feels like eating with friends: you meet people from all over the world and end up sharing tacos, laughs, and stories. Totally recommend it.

This is an amazing tour thanks to Ian! The other walkers cancelled/rescheduled last minute (their loss) so it was just me. I offered for Ian to cancel but he still did the tour! He is knowledgeable, kind, funny, and smart. He is passionate about the 'off the beaten path' neighborhood this tour takes place and passionate about the food. I got to try different things (other than tacos) that I may have never tried thanks to Ian. He is passionate about the food and community based practices as well. If you want to go to a place that tourists probably never go and sample food that tourists eat have with an amazing guide, I highly recommend this tour!!! It was the highlight of my trip!

I’ve been eating tacos for years and figured there wasn’t much left to learn. Wrong. After walking through the Centro on this tour, I realized every dish has centuries of history behind it. Our guide explained it all nice and easy, like a buddy telling you a story over a beer. The food was unreal, and I’d go back in a heartbeat.

I would definitely recommend this tour, the value for money is great and it was a great introduction to Mexican tacos and the street food of Mexico City!

We enjoyed our tour with Renato. He was very informative and entertaining. We saw the main attractions in the Centro Historico from the outside and then we circled back and visited the ones we were most interested in.

We had a very nice afternoon learning a lot about the food and ingrediënts. It is such an amazing kitchen. Respect for all the cooks on the streets: demanding work in a very small place. Went home with full belly’s and a hug from Louis!

Best way to eat your way through Mexico City We walked a lot, so wear comfy shoes, but every stop was worth it and the food was incredible. I'm still thinking about those tacos. What I loved most were the stories behind each dish. I left understanding so much more about the culture and history behind what people eat here. I grew up thinking I knew what a taco was. I did not. Our guide made the whole experience. He was patient, never rushed us, and explained everything so well that it felt like being shown around by a friend, not like a tour. If you're in Mexico City, do this one. Come hungry!

Our guide was warm, knowledgeable, and had a real gift for making everyone feel at ease from the start. The food stops were incredible, genuinely some of the best bites we've had in the city, and each location came with great stories and context that made everything click. Nothing felt rushed. There was always room to ask questions, chat with the group, and just soak it all in. Highly recommend, and we'd jump at the chance to do another tour with this guide.
