Prague Capital of the Empire: Alchemy and Religion
Tour description
Prague was the capital of the empire at 2 moments in history: during the reign of Carlos IV (S.XIV) and during the reign of Rudolf II (S. XVI-XVII). This made it the most important cultural center in Central Europe , which attracted the European nobility, as well as scholars, architects and alchemists. During this period of time there were also great religious conflicts that led to the current peculiar idiosyncrasy of the Czech people.
Join us to discover the most noble and aristocratic area of the city (and rarely visited by tourists ), current place of residence of the most bohemian inhabitants of Prague.
We will discover the hidden corners of the city where the alchemists of Rudolf II's court lived and worked in secret and we will recount the religious warfare that makes this nation one of the most unique in the world in its relationship with religion.
