In this unique and original tour, we will walk through the streets less traveled by tourists and weave the history of the monuments to the most outstanding historical facts of the second largest city in Sicily.
Rebuilt more than seven times , after eruptions, wars and earthquakes, Catania has managed to be reborn, like a phoenix , more beautiful than ever.
Between imposing and sumptuous buildings, we will discover the history of the Sicilian Baroque , an expression of the return to life, the joy of living and overcoming the horror of the catastrophic earthquake of 1693 .
We will learn the history of Águeda , patron saint of the city, and Vincenzo Bellini, the greatest exponent of Italian "bel canto".
We will get to know the vestiges of its medieval past , and also the heritage of its Greco- Roman origins .
The explanation will be enriched with anecdotes about popular traditions and customs, legends and myths, Sicilian lifestyle, etc.

Important information for the traveler

• The duration of the tour is approximately 2 hours and the route consists of 2.3 km.
• The tour does not include the three main squares (Duomo, Università and Stesicoro), which I recommend you visit before or after our walk. I will also give you some information.
