Hi, I'm Mujalli, the local Ammani tour guide behind Free Walking Tour Amman. I studied history and nursing, and I have a passion for culture, politics and religion. It was when I showed my friends from Jordan that I discovered my love and aptitude for offering tours and after their positive feedback I decided to start offering professional tours. It is a job that gives me great satisfaction. Being able to inspire people and expand their knowledge while building bridges between cultures throughout my storytelling is extremely rewarding. My job is to make sure people have the best experience while exploring this country, either during or after my tour. My work life spans many different industries, which definitely suits me as a tour guide. I am able to offer travelers a unique and often unseen glimpse into what life is really like here while we have fun and discuss the history and politics of the region.
We should meet at Amman Pasha Hotel near the Roman Amphitheatre, and there I'll be a young looking guy, mostly wearing or carrying a moto helmet.
Then we go up to the roof of the hotel of Amman Pasha to see the distinctive view of old Amman to introduce each other, I will then introduce the ancient and modern history of Amman, the interesting stories of the culture and the region, and the recent and ancient events that helped shaping it.
depending on your level of interest this summary can be anywhere between few minutes and a bit close to an hour.
I give the tour objectively and without any barriers and from objective, historic and scientific points of view. No Filters.
Then the tour begins by walking in the oldest main street in Amman, passing by the Roman Bath house, before we pass through the oldest vegetable and food market in Amman to talk about it and try some of the beautiful treats it has inside.
You're free to stop to buy anything that you like during the walk. So bring some change and your bagsJ.
We will continue through the maze of souqs of Downtown, pass by some pretty pigeons and meditating tailors and our oldest mosque (bring some more conservative clothes if you wanna take a look inside) and talk about it and about the other interesting cultural bits that we'll see along the way. With a dark note here and a funny fact there, you will be able to see our culture through magnifying glasses while walking through it.
Finally we'll pass by the most famous restaurants and downtown's oldest building to see the old architecture and look at pictures of Old Amman, how it was and how it is now.
before ending the tour in one of the cafes or bars of Jabal Lweibdeh or Jabal Amman the colorful youthful neighborhoods full of graffitis and murals and my fellow like-minded people.
