Florentine legends and curiosities
Tour description
Bye! I propose another guided tour of Florence. We will obviously discover the history and even a little of the art of Florence, but this will only be an overview because we will focus on the anecdotes, legends and curiosities of this city. We will start from Piazza Santissima Annunziata where we will see how the first civil orphanage outside the church was born and we will also see how a famous painter did in spite of the monks of the monastery. We will move to Piazza San Marco, where Cosimo the Elder de 'Medici spent a fortune, partly because he was in good faith and partly because he was deceived. There will also be a visit to Piazza Duomo, which hides many legends, a little fruit of the imagination of the Florentines of the past, but still very cheerful and interesting. If we go to the church, which used to be a barn, one day we will see how Donatello helped a friend save his reputation in exchange for a simple dinner. We will see the battered statues in Piazza della Signoria. We then moved to Pontevecchio, where centuries ago the Florentines repaid the Pisans for an injustice that we will have seen in the cathedral.
