The entrance to the park is located right at the foot of the mountain in a small parking lot where we can leave our car in case we have come in it.
The ascent is spectacular, passing through viewpoints, archaeological remains of an old military fortress and for those who are fittest and reach the top, sublime views of the entire coast, a true gift for the senses.
Converted into a symbol of the city, the Peñón de Ifach is the protagonist in the most beautiful postcards of Calpe. Declared a Natural Park in 1987, this limestone monolith called Peñón de Ifach has become, over the years, a symbol of the city and is part of one of the most beautiful and visited places on the Levantine coast.
Dominating the entire city of Calpe, the rock, this rocky hill has been exerting a strong attraction on humans and on the different civilizations that have trodden these lands for centuries. It has a height of 330 meters and is linked to the coast simply by a small strip of land, creating a very unique landscape and one of the most photographed in this part of the Mediterranean.
The Peñón de Ifach Natural Park is home to a large number of species of flora and fauna. In the breeding season of the seagulls, the image of these birds flying over the rock is very spectacular.
One of the best known activities in Calpe are excursions to the rock.
It is an ideal place for lovers of hiking and climbing, we could divide it into two areas, a first area with easy access and a second, more complicated area after the tunnel.
