Enigmatic Cuenca. Legends of Cuenca (dramatized tour)
Tour description
Discover Cuenca in a unique way, through its legends. Immerse yourself in the mysteries of this medieval city on the city's only theatrical tour.
Our meeting point will be the Plaza Mayor fountain, in front of the Cathedral steps, next to Globalcaja.
Our first stop will be the San Miguel neighborhood, where legend has it ghosts once terrorized the population... and then we'll move on to our next stop, where we'll tell you the legend behind a minor prank in the city: the Ojos de la Mora.
Later, we'll go down to the Hermitage of Las Angustias, where we'll recount the city's most famous legend, which inspired Bécquer to write one of his rhyming works.
We'll go up the way we came and along the Júcar riverbank toward one of the city's first Christian churches, the Church of San Nicolás, to tell the legend of the saint's miracles.
We'll go to the other gorge, the Huécar, to learn the love story between Don Julián and Doña Angustias, under the eyes of the Christ of the passageway. From there, we'll go down to the Hanging Houses, where we'll tell the legend of the House of the Mermaid, and discover if there are mermaids, with their songs, in the city of Cuenca...
Finally, we'll end the tour in the famous Plaza de Mangana, where, at the foot of the tower of the same name, we'll recount Cuenca's most terrifying legend, the one about 17th-century witches.
And the most special thing of all... an apparition will accompany us throughout the tour...
NOTE: The dramatized tour costs €12 per person. This is the amount we value our work and the investment made in costumes, hats, and masks. We understand that this is a free tour, but please keep in mind that we make our living solely from this activity, so we greatly appreciate customer feedback, both in terms of comments and financial considerations. If you find that you don't value the two-and-a-half-hour dramatized mystery tour at least that amount, we would appreciate it if you would refrain from making your reservation to make room for someone who does. Thank you.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE
Travelers, we know perfectly well that this is a free tour platform, so in light of some somewhat negative reviews that only criticized the fact that we give out a ticket at the beginning of the tour, we clarify why we do so at the beginning of the tour.
We don't just offer free tours, but we also work with many platforms, some requiring prepayment and others where the client pays upon arrival at our meeting point. Many people choose free tour platforms without really knowing what they are or how much they have to pay, and for all those questions, this website has a section for questions that already has an answer, so we focus on what's important: we provide a receipt, the amount of which reflects our assessment of our service, since it's essential to bring it in case of a possible tax inspection and because this receipt acts as a simplified invoice. At no point are you asked to pay this amount; you have to bring it. There are many people who prefer to pay this amount and then relax after the payment, while others prefer to give whatever they want at the end of the tour (of course, there are also scoundrels who leave early or at the end of the tour and don't give anything, but we don't count those types of people). That said, you need to bring your corresponding ticket, which doesn't mean we're going to any monument, but simply that you need it so we can file our taxes.
Additional information for the traveler:
- Please confirm your attendance . Many times, reservations are made but the tour is not attended. This can lead to, for example, unavailable spots for people who are genuinely interested, making the management, logistics, and planning process more difficult for the guide. Therefore, please confirm your attendance. If there are only two people who have not confirmed their reservation and do not respond, the guide will cancel the tour.
- The minimum number of people to take the tour is 6.
- The tour can be taken with a stroller, but it's much better and more comfortable to bring a backpack with little ones, as some sections involve stairs. You can leave strollers or your luggage at our office at 14 San Pedro Street, ground floor. The price is €1 per hour for strollers; inquire about luggage charges.
- If reservations are made less than 5 hours in advance, the guide reserves the right to customize the itinerary based on whether or not the tour is available.
- It's a perfect complementary tour to the "Daytime Wonder" or "Night Spell" tours, as 100% of the content changes.
