Holy Week is the most important celebration of each year in Seville. The city prepares throughout the year for these religious processions, which last a week. More than 60 brotherhoods take to the streets of Seville and their images, some with several centuries of history, go through them accompanied by thousands of Nazarenes. We will depart from the Basilica de la Macarena, where the Virgen de la Esperanza Macarena is located, the most popular Marian devotion in Seville. And we will end in another basilica, that of Jesús del Gran Poder, known as 'El Señor de Sevilla'. On the way, we will visit other churches from which brotherhoods procession every Easter, a celebration declared as a Festival of International Tourist Interest. History, art and tradition go hand in hand on this tour that runs through the center of the capital of Andalusia. We will learn about the origin, operation and evolution that this religious festival has undergone, celebrated all over the world every spring but unique in Seville.
